Hayleys Message

A Message from Hayley, our Manager (24 Jan 2022)

A Happy New year to all!

I can’t believe another year has passed and here we are with 2022 already underway. I hope that you and your loved ones remained well over Christmas. I would like to take the opportunity to thank you all for your continued support of our charity in 2021.

I’ve been giving a lot of thought to reflecting on the past year and planning for the next 12 months.

When I took over the role as Manager for MKCCG at the beginning of 2020, it was to be for a two year period. The goal being to have a smooth transition in place to allow a new manager to take the service forward. Who would have thought what events would unfold in March 2020 and beyond!

It is thanks to the tremendous support, dedication and effort from all of you - our members, the volunteers, staff and Officers, that we find ourselves open today, delivering our services to the people of Milton Keynes and surrounding areas. I applaud you all.

After much discussion with my family, I have made the very difficult decision to stay true to my initial plans and to step down from the responsibility as Manager towards the end of March 2022. This will coincide with the retirement of my husband and allow me to spend more time with my family and supporting my elderly mother who lives in Devon.

After 22 years of service to MKCCG, this was not an easy decision to make. However, I must also consider what is right for the service, and that is for it to move forward. A new person at the helm will bring fresh ideas, enthusiasm and innovation.

The Manager post has been advertised through the British Association for Cardiovascular Prevention and Rehabilitation and on our website. Interviews have taken place and we should be able to announce the new Manager soon.

Change can feel uncomfortable but with it comes hope and optimism for a brighter future. I will continue to support you and the team as we begin the transition and welcome my replacement into the role as Manager. I will continue to support the charity as a health professional where able, should the need arise, just as others have done before me.

So once again, my sincere gratitude to you all, for your kindness and support throughout those 22 years. It has been a pure joy and a privilege to have been part of your journey.

Kindest regards always,

Hayley
