So, we are going ahead with our plans to be ready to re-start our exercise sessions from Monday 17th May, unless the Government announces a change of timetable. As a start we envisage each session will look like the pilot sessions we ran in September of last year. Check out the website as a reminder (Pilot Sessions). Currently the plan is to restrict each individual session to 10 members to maintain safe distance but to have two shorter sessions each morning/afternoon/evening to accommodate more members. In this way we will be able to offer each member one session every other week in your ‘usual’ slot. If rules for social distancing for exercise change, we might be able to fit in more members per session. We are regularly checking for specialist advice on restarting exercise such as ours, so some of the detail may change nearer the time.
Our staff will be contacting all members who are still paying their fees to check on their current health and fitness and whether they wish to return in May. Once we are up and running again, we will be contacting members who have suspended their fees to see if they wish to resume and then those who have left the group to see if they wish to re-join.
In the meantime, before our potential restart we have arranged for Hinton Hall to be redecorated in time to welcome us back to a bright, fresh building. This work starts on Tuesday 6th April and is expected to take around four weeks. Late last year work was completed on repairing and refurbishing our roof, which you might remember had started to leak. The cost of doing this work was paid for by a generous grant from West Bletchley Council, for which we are very grateful.
Fingers crossed that lockdown measures continue to ease and that we can start to exercise again at Hinton Hall in just six weeks’ time!
