Welcome to the Milton Keynes
Community Cardio-pulmonary Group

We are a local charity group established in Milton Keynes in 1989. We offer a safe environment for people with cardiac conditions and/or COPD to exercise, overseen by qualified British Association of Cardiovascular Prevention and Rehabilitation (BACPR) teachers.

The Group meets every week and has an exercise programme directly related to those who have had the type of problems described above. It also provides an opportunity to socialise with people who have had similar problems.

The Kings Award for Voluntary Service 2024 (14 November 2024)

Our volunteers have received this award. This is a fantastic achievement. It is the highest award a local group of volunteers can receive in the UK and is equivalent to an MBE. Many, many congratulations and thanks to them all.

Our volunteers include our Blueshirts, our Webmaster, admin volunteers, members of the Partners’ Group, members of the Social Committee, our tea and coffee makers, the leader and accompanist of the Singing for Breathing Group, our Maintenance team, our Building Maintenance Coordinator, the editor of Cardiographic, our gardener, our Session Representatives and our fund-raisers.

The volunteers will receive the award crystal and certificate from Countess Howe, Lord-Lieutenant of Buckinghamshire, in due course. In addition, two volunteers will attend a garden party at Buckingham Palace in May and June 2025, along with recipients of this year’s Award from other organisations.

This is a very much deserved award. I would like to thank all those who helped with the application process and did such a great job.

Ivan
